Once upon a time there was a curious little girl who loved to create and make things. She would daydream about fantastical landscapes and imagine magical stories. She loved to use play dough and shape it into creatures, characters and everyday objects, this gave her a feeling of calm and happiness.
As she grew she clung onto those daydreams and the feeling of calm that making gave her. Her passion for creating and stories began to forge her path in art and literature and she gained a joint degree in both before going on to become an art teacher. Teaching allowed her to share her passion for making with others and she was delighted to see the enjoyment and confidence that making evoked.
As the years passed by she had her own family, two daughters, who from a young age began to share the same passion for making and the same love of stories. She noticed their learning and development through play and she began to make her own dough. She began to mix their favourite colours and add in delicious scents to stimulate their senses so they could see the bright bold colours, smell familiar scents and feel the wonderful textures of the dough. These then began to inspire her own children’s story telling as they began to create their own landscapes, characters and their take on the world around them through role play. This is when the girl thought, what if we could share this love of making and inspiration with others.
And so this is how Putty Planet began.
